Each TopView Version is based on the source of the measurement data that is being monitored. TopView currently supports the following data sources:

Tag-based data sources

• OPC/SCADA
  For PLCs, SCADA, Historians, Controls Systems. Support for OPC-DA/HDA (OPC Classic) and OPC UA.
  Includes SCADA Sync to sync SCADA alarms to TopView.
• PI/PIAF/Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian
  PI tag and AF attributes (from OSIsoft)
• AVEVA Connect
  Monitor and create alarms for stream data in AVEVA Connect
• SQL Lookup
  ODBC and OLEDB databases, files, and spreadsheets
• PerfMon
  System Performance and Ping response time
• Custom Data Source
  Custom-written data source plug-in

Event-based data sources

• OPC A&E
  Vendor-neutral alarm/event interface to Emerson DeltaV, ICONICS, GE iFIX, Yokogawa, Honeywell, and others
• SQL Events
  ODBC databases containing SQL-based events logs
• MQTT
  For sensor and IIOT devices

Regardless of the data source for the monitored data, TopView Software contains a common set of features. A single installation of TopView can be licensed for multiple data sources.
