Redundant TopView Engines – Failover configurations

TopView failover communicating via Windows Performance Counters

TopView supports a redundant architecture that allows for a second TopView machine to take over monitoring if issues arise on the primary TopView machine.

If the primary TopView machine is shut down, TopView Engines are stopped, or TopView can no longer connect to the data server, the secondary TopView machine can detect these situations and launch redundant TopView Engines in response.

The secondary TopView machine can monitor the primary machine’s TopView Engines through Windows Performance counters, or through heartbeat points on your monitored data source.
