OPC Output of limits and alarm events
The real-time ProcessTemplate Monitor will compare the current event measurement value to the template limits.
In previous version of ProcessTemplates, the Monitor could optionally output the current template limits (upper, center line, lower) to PI tags. In addition, the current alarm state of the measurement vs. the alarm limits could be output to a digital PI tag (Inactive, Low limit violation, Compliant, High limit violation)
With this release, the output points can be OPC tags within a local or remote OPC Server. This allows output of current template state to other databases and historians that support OPC.
Enhanced event filtering
A template filter allows the user to specify a period within the target event (e.g. when the temperture is > 100 within a batch event). Two new filtering options are now available:
Subbatch and Tag Expression template filter
Previous versions allowed the user to enter a “SubBatch” or “Tag expression” template filter.
The user can now select “SubBatch” or “Tag expression” or “Both Subbatch and Tag Expression”.
If “Both” is selected, the template is first filtered by the entered Subbatch filter, then by the entered tag expression filter.
Support for free-form template event filter expressions
Each template event can be optionally filtered by a PI Tag Expression. In previous versions, this filter was specified through a set of dropdowns that allowed, at most, 2 tags in the expression. The user can now specify the expression by entering the text of a valid PI-PE expression that evaluates to TRUE or FALSE.
Final RMS available to PI-ProcessBook
RMS (root mean squared) is a value that indicates how closely the measurement follows the center line of the template.
A new dataset column added to the ProcessTemplates Add-in for PI-ProcessBook will display a single, final RMS value at the event end time. The existing RMS column displays a changing RMS value during the event.
