PI ProcessTemplates allows operators and engineers to monitor critical attributes of a process using their existing PI server and PI-ProcessBook/BatchView client tools.
ProcessTemplates compares selected process measurements of a currently active
PI Batch to a set of upper and lower control limits. These limits are typically calculated from successful past batch runs, but can also be imported into
Process Templates from another source.
Quality tags are defined in the PI archive for monitored sensors. These alarm tags record whether or not the process measurement was within the control limits for each interval during the batch.
All sensor monitoring and limit checking occurs continuously in the background.
Real-time presentation is performed in PI-ProcessBook.

ProcessTemplate Manager
The PI ProcessTemplate Manager is used to create and edit templates.
Templates may be created/compared based on time into process or
deviation from mean. Templates
may also be created/compared as a histogram or SQC chart of values at a
relative time into the process. Once
created, templates can be imported/exported to/from the PI Module Database

Monitor
The PI ProcessTemplate Monitor is a Service (NT/2000) which compares process
values against a selected template stored in the PI Module Database.
The process status is then recorded in a PI tag that specifies
whether the process is inactive, compliant, or in low or high alarm
relative to the template. The templates themselves may be recorded in PI tags with this
product.

Add-In for PI ProcessBook
The PI ProcessTemplate Add-In is an Add-In to PI-ProcessBook.
This Add-In provides a custom dataset that represents template
average, high and low limits. These Data Sets are then plotted in PI-ProcessBook along with
the corresponding process tag to illustrate process compliance to the
template.

Once you have configured
PI ProcessTemplates to monitor the quality of your measurements,
TopView for PI can immediately send notification to one or more
recipients if the measurements exceed the defined template limits.
